CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical fat reduction procedure that is cleared by the FDA to treat visible areas of unwanted fat. The treatment uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists diet and exercise.
The fat deposit being treated will be drawn up into applicators by a gentle suction mechanism. You may feel a pulling sensation throughout your session.
The controlled cooling begins, and the frozen fat cells are crystallized and destroyed. Your body then eliminates the dead fat cells as waste.
Candidates for CoolSculpting® are typically looking for a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Good candidates for the procedure have noticeable fat deposits in certain areas but are at a healthy weight and are not experiencing any health problems. CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss procedure (unlike weight loss surgery, such as gastric bypass). A customized treatment plan will be developed for you during your consultation appointment.
Your CoolSculpting® session can take as little as 35 minutes, depending on the size and number of treatment sites.
There is no downtime associated with CoolSculpting®, and you will be able to resume your regular activities immediately after your procedure. You may experience skin sensitivity or a slight aching in the treatment site, but these symptoms typically resolve on their own.
